Becoming a Registered Centre for the Level 1 Certificate in Health and Safety at Work
A registered centre is an organisation registered with BSC Awards to deliver the Level 1 Certificate in Health and Safety at Work and hold examinations at its location on dates and at times of its choice.

Allows organisations to deliver in-house training using learning materials supplied by BSC Awards and then hold examinations at their location which lead to a nationally-recognised qualification.
How it Works
- Organisation registers with BSC Awards for a fee of £250 + VAT (annual renewal £100 + VAT).
- BSC Awards provides photocopiable student handouts, Powerpoint slides and lesson plans.
- Organisation prepares its candidates for the assessment (the course can be delivered in one day).
- Organisation books examinations with BSC Awards for date(s) and time(s) of its choosing. Examination fee £10.21 per candidate (+VAT).
- BSC Awards despatches examination question papers to organisation.
- Organisation administers (invigilates) the examination and returns answer forms to BSC Awards for marking.
- BSC Awards issues results and qualification certificates within five working days.
