Level 6 Diploma in Occupational Safety and Health

The Diploma covers all aspects of occupational health and safety law and practice, and places emphasis on ill-health prevention. It also focuses on embedding health and safety into an organisation's culture and highlights the key role of communication in winning workforce 'hearts and minds' and securing senior management commitment.

Our approach

The training sets out to develop sound and practical knowledge and understanding for day-to-day application in the workplace and prepares each participant for the Level 6 qualification assessment.

Course coverage

Learning outcomes are grouped into three units

Unit 3: Health and Safety Culture and Business

Element B Developing a Business Case for Health and Safety

There are 3 study routes with varying entry criteria according to your current experience and qualifications.

Route 1
5 week course
Entry requirment - An alternative appropriate qualification in a related sector, for example a degree in environmental health or appropriate experience in a health and safety role and previous attainment equivalent to Level 2 on the National Qualifications Framework (GCSE Grade A* - C or an O level or a vocational qualification)
Route 2
4 week course
Entry requirement - Level 3 qualification in health and safety, e.g. a BSC Awards Certificate in Safety Management or a National Examination Board in Occupational and Health (NEBOSH) Certificate awarded within the last five years.
Route 3
3 week course
Entry requirement - BSC Awards Diploma in Safety Management or equivalent, within the last five years.
